SURA Peru promoted saving and entrepreneurship benefitting more than 60 thousand school children
Lima, July 25, 2016. SURA Peru, part ofSURA Asset Management under Grupo SURA, has provided saving and entrepreneurship trainings through its social and financial program called Emprendiendo , in favor of more than 60 thousand students from 1st to 5th grade of high school from 24 public institutions of Lima Metropolitana and Callao.
The main objective of the Emprendiendo program, conducted under the international methodology developed by the NGO Aflatoun, is to create a savings culture among the students as well as to provide them with the necessary knowledge to implement future business projects. Additionally, the program trains teachers in workshops leaded by specialized professionals.
To this date 1,573 trained teachers have been registered and 3,662 undertakings have been implemented by the students.
On the other side, under the guidance of SURA Peru workers, students prepare business plans that they submit to the Entrepreneurship and Financial Partners Fair held at SURA Peru offices. These projects enter the Business Plan Contest, where a jury, workers and the invited public vote for the best three plans. This year the fair will take place in November.
It is worth mentioning that the program Emprendiendo has been in place since 2008 promoted by SURA Peru in alliance with the Regional Bureau of Education of Lima Metropolitana and the NGO Visión Solidaria, and supported by the Dutch NGO Aflatoun.
