Grupo SURA has been included in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook for the eleventh year running

  • The Organization was awarded a bronze medal in the Diversified Financial Services and Capital Markets industry.
  • Having been included in this S&P Yearbook also reflects Grupo SURA's position in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, where it was the only Latin American company in this industry to be included in the Global index.
  • The 2022 Yearbook, compiled by S&P Global, lists the most recognized companies worldwide for their sustainability criteria.

Grupo SURA was included in the 2022 Sustainability Yearbook and was also awarded a bronze medal, thereby ratifying its position as one of the organizations with the best sustainability practices in the world, specifically in the Diversified Financial Services and Capital Markets industry..

This year´s publication, as compiled by S&P Global, evaluated more than 7,500 organizations from different sectors around the world, which represent more than 45% of the current market capitalization in all international markets. S&P listed a total of 631 organizations as leaders of their industries, for which they were awarded medals.  In this case, in addition to Grupo SURA obtaining a bronze medal, other companies belonging to our investment portfolio were also recognized, such as Bancolombia, Grupo Nutresa and Grupo Argos.

This evaluation, which was structured based on each Company's ESG criteria, yielded a series of scores in all four different dimensions: social, environmental, economic and governance. Grupo SURA obtained an overall score of 78 in this evaluation. These scores are based on the different practices implemented by Suramericana, a subsidiary specializing in insurance as well as trends and risk management as well as SURA Asset Management, its other subsidiary dedicated to pension fund, investment and asset management.  These practices include extending their knowledge of climate change and including ESG criteria in their investment and product design processes.

"Being included in the S&P Sustainability Yearbook motivates us to continue promoting sustainable practices in the way we do business and how we act as corporate citizens. Our purpose is to provide added value for our  different stakeholders and thereby contribute to a more harmonious level of development for our society," stated Mónica Guarín, Grupo SURA´s Chief Human Development and Society Officer.

It is important to mention that having been included in the Sustainability Yearbook evidences  Grupo SURA's position in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index 2021, where it earned fifth place, the only ranking obtained by a  Latin American company from the Diversified Financial Services and Capital Markets industry.

Finally, it was stated that the only companies to be awarded bronze medals were those among the 10% best performers from their respective industries.
