Born in Bogota in 1958, Mr. Perez holds a law degree from the Universidad de Medellin, as well as a specialization from Swiss Re Insurance, in Zürich Switzerland. He also completed the Kellogg Graduate School of Management´s CEO Management Program in Chicago (USA).

Since April 1, 2020, he has held the position of President of Grupo SURA, manager of an investment portfolio focused on financial and related services, which consolidates one of the most important financial services operations in Latin America: leader in managed pension assets (with its subsidiary SURA Asset Management), fourth largest Latin American insurance company by share capital (with its subsidiary Suramericana), a leading bank in Colombia and one of the main financial entities in Central America (as the main shareholder of Bancolombia).
