In this way, SURA shall stage its very first regional volunteer initiative to be carried out simultaneously by the employees of Grupo Sura, its subsidiaries Suramericana, SURA Asset Management and ARUS together with their own business units, as well as Proteccion. The purpose of this initiative is to improve the educational infrastructure of 34 schools in 26 cities in Colombia, Mexico, El Salvador, the Dominican Republic, Panama, Peru, Brazil, Chile, Uruguay and Argentina.
"We are convinced of the importance of devoting ourselves to strategies designed to further individual and organizational skills, this for the purpose of enhancing people´s quality of life and well-being as well as the competitiveness of the countries where we are present. That is why we encourage initiatives, such as our own corporate volunteer program, in which our employees and their families are able to see firsthand different social realities and dynamics and to take part in changing these for the better", stated Tatyana Orozco, Grupo SURA's Chief Corporate Affairs Officer.
In order to carry out this activity as well as deploy other educational strategies within the region, Grupo SURA recently signed an agreement with United Way, the world´s No. 1 solidarity network based in the United States that works closely with its Latin American partners.
Some of the activities carried out by our corporate volunteer corps included repainting classrooms and common areas, enhancing recreation and sports areas and planting vegetable gardens on school premises.
