Suramericana announced this Monday that Carlos Alberto González Posada shall be taking over as the new CEO of Seguros SURA Mexico on January 1, 2024, as decided by the Board of Directors of this subsidiary, which belongs to our core subsidiary specializing in trend and risk management.
"His ability to inspire and mobilize his teams, his perseverance and commitment, his hands-on leadership, his discipline and focus on the pursuit of the Company's objectives, make him the ideal person to assist with the challenges and achievements of the Seguros SURA Mexico team," stated Juana Francisca Llano, Suramericana´s CEO in a message to the Company's teams throughout the region.
Carlos Alberto has served as the Chief Mandatory Insurance Officer at Seguros SURA Colombia since May 2021, and before that he was Chief Voluntary Insurance Officer at this same Company, which he joined nearly three decades ago having held other positions as part of his career path such as National Health Plans Manager and Voluntary Insurance Manager of the Central Region.
The next CEO of Seguros SURA Mexico is a surgeon who graduated from CES University, holding specializations in Social Security Management from both the CES and EAFIT Universities (in Medellin); he also holds a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the Instituto de Alta Dirección Empresarial de la Universidad de La Sabana (Inalde, Bogota). He has supplemented his studies with training in Ontological Coaching from the Rafael Echeverría School (Ecore, Chile) and the Senior Management Program at INCAE (Costa Rica).
Consequently, Carlos Alberto González shall succeed the former CEO of Seguros SURA Mexico Carlos Ospina Duque, who sadly passed away at the end of September having been with Suramericana for nearly 30 years. Carlos Ospina Duque also led the Company's operations in the Dominican Republic and El Salvador and shall always be remembered at SURA for his warmth, knowledge and commitment.
